Welcome to Chale, Protect Yourself!  –  A Safe Sex Space Like No Other

Chale, you dey here? Come make we talk!

Welcome to Chale, Protect Yourself! – your new favorite space for real, raw, and relevant conversations about sex, sexual health, protection, and everything in between. We know, we know – talking about sex in Ghana can feel like a trap. One minute you’re asking a genuine question, the next minute someone is looking at you like you’ve disgraced the whole family. Sound familiar?

But here’s the truth: young people are already having sex, thinking about sex, or hearing about it from their friends, social media, or dodgy websites. So instead of pretending these conversations aren’t happening, why not make sure they’re honest, accurate, and shame-free?

That’s what Chale, Protect Yourself is here to do.

Why We Exist

Let’s be real. A lot of us grew up in homes or schools where sex was either not talked about at all or treated like something dirty and dangerous. But what we really needed was:

  • A space to ask questions without being judged
  • Information that made sense for our context—not just copied from Western books or TikTok
  • A vibe that’s open, fun, but still serious about health and safety

So, we created it.

Whether you’re 18 or 26, in uni, married, dating, or just figuring things out, this platform is for you. And if you’re a parent, health worker, or educator? You’re welcome too. We want this to be a community space where everyone can learn, share, and grow.

What You’ll Find Here

We’re not just here to preach or scare you. We’re here to educate, laugh, and empower. On this website, you’ll find:

  • Real talk about sex, STIs, and condoms (yes, condoms are cool!)
  • Culture-specific issues: like how we navigate respect, shame, and pressure in Ghanaian society
  • Gender-specific content for boys, girls, and everyone in between
  • Relationship advice, body knowledge, and stories from people like you
  • Forums to chat, ask, and connect

You’ll also hear from health professionals, youth voices, and maybe even your favorite influencers or musicians (you never know who’s watching).

What We’re Not

  • We’re not here to encourage anyone to have sex before they’re ready
  • We’re not against parents, elders, or tradition – we just believe in open, honest education
  • We’re not a replacement for your doctor (but we’ll help you know when to see one)

Let’s Change the Conversation

The way we talk about sex in Ghana is changing – and you are part of that change. Whether you’re here to learn how to use a condom, understand your body better, or just feel less alone in your journey, know that this space was made for you.

So take your time, explore the site, join the convo, and protect yourself – not just physically, but emotionally and mentally too. After all, as we say:
“If you no protect yourself, who go do am for you?”
